Oscarbrygga - beneath the Arctic circle Oscarbrygga is located on the outermost Northern Norwegian Atlantic coastline, just below the Arctic circle. Surrounded by fantastic mountain formations and rich fishing waters, with regular boating routes close by, this is the ideal location for those wishing to combine peace and quiet with a fishing experience in beautiful surroundings. The establishment The establishment comprises of a large wharf alongside a quay, a restaurant on the first floor, two modern cabins and a newly completed house in local style which is divided into two separate living areas. All buildings have terraces with ocean views and there are a total of 16 beds. Adjacent to Oscarbrygga is a general store. Here you can purchase groceries and fuel. Unique restaurant on the warf The restaurant on Oscarbrygga's first floor has been kept in the old maritime style. Traditional dishes are served with the emphasis placed on fish, and we are of course fully licensed. We can accommodate up to 80 dinner guests. Cabin rental The high standard cabins have two bedrooms, bathroom, shower and a fully equipped kitchen. Prices per cabin 1998 (NOK)
The cabins must be cleaned before you leave. The view The cabins and the main building offer views of the ocean, islands and passing boats. The ferries pass at set times. The coastal express passes at 7 a.m. on it's journey northwards, and 10 a.m. when travelling south. In addition there are some freight boats and various fishing and leisure boats. Every now and then an ocean liner passes by… Boat rentals We hire out open motorized aluminum boats. Basic fishing equipment is already onboard, and life jackets are included in the hire price. For groups we also arrange for fishing trips using larger vessels. Price: Approx. NOK 1500,- per. hour. Excursions The Tonnes caves in the mountainside just behind the establishment are within easy walking distance, or take a boat out to the Arctic circle globe which is found on an isle called "the Viking", only a few minutes from the quay. Further out to sea you will discover a fantastic world of islands with characteristic mountain formations. The horseman, the sleeping lion, the mountain of puffin island and the peaks of Tr�na are well known profiles. Tr�na is Norway's oldest fishing village, and remains a thriving community to this day. If you have traveled far to get to Oscarbrygga, a tour of the islands is a necessity! There are daily ferries to several of the islands. A visit to the largest town of the county, Bod�, is easily accomplished in a day trip. Here you can among others visit the aviation musuem. Eat your own catch, or enjoy yourself in the restaurant. Visit the islands, or take a day trip to Bod�. The possibilities are many. It is up to you to take advantage of them. How to get here You can fly to Bod� and take the coastal express to Tonnes, take either the train or plane to Mo i Rana and the bus to Tonnes, or simply drive here in your own car. Use the E6 via Mo i Rana or the Rv17, The Coastal Route, one of Norway's most beautiful stretches of road, northwards via Sandnessj�en and Nesna. Contact us
